NASH DIM, OUR HOME
The “Nash Dim” Challenge (“Our Home” in Ukrainian) is an ambitious and pioneer project, not implemented yet since the war started, targeting to build a new home in Ukraine to shelter 100 women and children, displaced from the occupied zones.
Origin of the “Nash Dim” Challenge
Since the war started the Foundation has been in direct contact with local counterparts in Ukraine aiming to know first hand the country´s real needs.
In one of our trips to Ukraine taken place in July, the Foundation visited a refugees’ center in Skole; 100km away from Lviv; west of Ukraine. There, in a building essentially in ruins, live together 74 women and 24 children, some of them suffering from mental illnesses. They all came from occupied zones by Russia losing everything they had.
The Ukrainian ONG “Guardian Angels”, along with local volunteers, help this refugees and seeks for an urgent housing solution, anticipating the winter´s arrival.
Which is the Challenge?
After becoming aware of this situation, the Foundation started to work on a solution, looking for a new home for this people inside Ukraine.
At the end of August, the Foundation signed with the local NGO “Guardian Angels” and the city council of Kernytsya ( a small town 28km away from Lviv) a collaboration agreement. The city council of this town has signed over a two-floor building and a piece of land next to it, which would become the NASH DIM HOME.
This former administrative building needs some basic refurbishment, e.g. roofing , heating and sewerage, as well as a new distribution in order to accommodate 100 people.

NASH DIM : HOME GAME
The Nash Dim Challenge has also room for sports, specifically for soccer.
Since the war started, one of the main needs has the children as central role, since they need a break from the situation they are currently living.
Only 100 meters way from the signed over building in Kernytsya, there is a soccer field. Therefore, NASH DIM has a project extension called NASH DIM: HOME GAME, which targets to give 10 boys and girls the opportunity to enjoy soccer camps, specially tailored for them, with the aim of giving them the chance of disconnect from the situation they are leaving for some days.
UNDER THE MANAGEMENT OF...
The professional soccer referee, Eduardo Prieto Iglesias, is responsible for the project “ NASH DIM: HOME GAME. Since the war started in Ukraine , Eduardo has been collaborating along with the Foundation in several humanitarian and health assistance operations in Ukraine.
“ We want these football camps to be for these boys and girls a place to disconnect from the situation they are living. We want them to enjoy the football values, which speak about solidarity, comradeship and roots to the land”
